February Birchbox

Hello ladies, this post has come out later than expected, but been so busy with work and college!!! well today I bring you another Birchbox, and because we are in February, Valentines day, Birchbox had a love themed box. I have to say that I don't like Valentines day so when they said that it would be the theme for tis month, I wasn't happy at all.

I do love when they give a special name, this month I got " to the incredible Marlene Botelho", I do think its a nice touch!! It does make you feel good:).

When I opened the box and saw the products I was actually relieved that I didn't got anything related to Valentines day.

The first product that I got was a Birchbox exclusive, and it was the T London Darjeeling Bath and Shower Wash. It soothes the skin and it is as blend of chamomile and green tea. (From £6.50).

Next was from The Balm Cosmetics, the Stainiac in Beauty Queen, you can use it for your lips and cheeks, I suppose it is a little bit like the Benefit tint. You can swipe onto lips like a gloss, or dot onto checks and blend. I don't normally use this type of products, but I will give it a try to see if it is any good. (RRP £10.00)

Another Birchbox exclusive, the Cynthia Rowley Beauty, there was two shades, black or silver, and  I received the silver colour. I definitely won't be using this product!!! maybe if it was in black, I'm not a big fan of silver eye shadows never mind eyeliners!!. (RRP £11.00).

I was quite pleased about this product, Liz Earle Beauty, Botanical Shine Shampoo. I love this brand, I use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and it is amazing!!! This shampoo is a shine boosting blend of Vitamin E, fruit extracts and shea butter. (RRP £10.00).

Wild about Beauty was the next product on my box, the rose water illuminating serum. I'm looking forward to try this product, it seems to be quite good. This serum is packed with reflective pearls for a youthful glow. Smooth 3 to 5 pumps over clean skin, or apply over base makeup. Does seem a little strange to apply on top of makeup, think I will just do as normal and apply before makeup. (RRP £22.00).

The last product is lifestyle and this month we received the Oats + Chia from The Chia Co. It is a creamy blend of wholegrain oats, chia, fruit and virgin coconut oil, just had water and stir. I am not a big fan of this types of oats but maybe I will give it a try, probably will use milk instead of water,  will see how it goes. (RRP £4.95) for a pack of 5.

After all this box wasn't too bad, it didn't had any valentines stuff which I was quite happy about, but I think that the problem with my boxes, is that I have received so many shampoo and shower gels, I don't think I need any more of them products, it is just becoming a little bit repetitive. I have been thinking if I should cancel for a few months or if I will see how the next boxes are.

And that is all for now, till my next post

Another haul!!!

Hello everyone I hope you are all great!!! I just wanted to show everyone a few things that I bought from Boots, Harveys and New Look.

The first thing that I bought, was something that I wanted for a while. Its the Estee Lauder double wear stay in place makeup. I heard great things about this foundation, so I finally got to go the Harveys counter in Halifax, and the lady matched my skin to the foundation, so mine was shade 2N1, Desert Beige. I love this foundation, it is so good!!! but I will be doing a review of this foundation later. This foundation costs £29.50, and it is really worth it.

The next product I got was from Superdrug, the Matte Me ultra smooth matte lip cream from Sleek Makeup, I haven't tried this product yet, so I got the shade Fandango Purple 431, I hope it is long lasting and I really love this shade, its gorgeous. It was about £6.99.

Next is from Maybelline, the Colour drama, intensive velvet lip pencil, I actually got one of them a few weeks before, in the darkest shade, and I actually quite like it. So I had to try the other shades. I bought the 630 nude perfection, I dont normally use nudes but for work its what i normally use, the other shade is 130 love my pink, it is a nice colour, a light pink colour, which I also use for work. They do last for a few hours, before you have to re-apply again, but its not like a high end lip product. They cost around £4.99, if I am not mistaken, most of times, Maybelline products are on 3 for 2 or on buy 1 get second half price.

Boots had an offer on Revlon, 3 for 2, so it would be rude not to get anything, eheh, so I decided to get the Revlon highlighting palette in 020 rose glow. And then I chosse the Photoready BB Cream in shade 020 light medium. For my third product I went for a cream blush in shade 150, charmed enchantement. I love cream blushes, they are by far my favourites, and Revlon blushes are really good.

And another foundation!!! whats happening with me!! the Maybelline dream flawless nude, fluid touch foundation. This foundation actually makes me remember of the Loreal nude magique eau de teint, I did bought the loreal foundation, but I really hated the fact that it didnt had a pump, so I ended up spilling the foundation everywhere(what a waste)!! so I didnt bother buying another one, but the maybelline one is actually better and easier to use. I bought the shade 010 ivoire. This shades actually loos quite dark when comparing to other foundations. it costs £8.99 .

Im not really sure why i bought the next product, but I loved the packaging( good excuse) its the super liner smokissime. It is actually an powder eyeliner pen, it did seem quite interesting.

I think I have a serious obcession with Soap & glory body products. they are normally on 3 for 2 at Boots, so everytime I go to boots I pick up something.  This time I got  two body showers and the breakfast body scub. I just love the smell and they leave your skin so smooth and with a lovely smell.

Next, I stopped at New Look just to have a look, and they still had some items on sale , so I picked up some earrings and necklaces. The earrings were reduced from £6.99, and £3.99 to £1.00, and the necklaces were reduced from £4.99, £4.99 to £2.00.

So ladies, that is all that I bought (for now) let me know what you think of these products and if you have tried any of them!!!

Benefit Roller Lash mascara

Hello ladies!!! I'm sure that by now you all know that Benefit is launching a new mascara in February, but if you bought the Elle magazine you would get a sample of the mascara. I do think it is a very good way of trying the mascara without having to pay for the full price.

To be honest, Benefit products are always a hit and miss by me, I do like the blushers but didn't like the eyeliner that they released, but when it comes to mascaras, I always like to try new ones.

I do have to say that it was quite difficult to find the Elle magazine, it was sold out in most places.

Anyway, talking about this new mascara, it is supposed to give longer lashes and it has a specially designed wand, flexible to grab all the lashes and give them a curl and full effect, setting them into place. The new formula is also supposed to provide a clump-free finish.

After trying this mascara, I didn't really saw any difference from the mascara that I use at the moment, actually my mascara gives more volume and my lashes appear longer than with the Benefit mascara. I have been using the Maybelline Falsies for quite a while, and even though I do try another mascaras, I always return to my Maybelline mascara.

The first photo is my eyelashes with no mascara at all. While the second photo is after applying the Benefit Roller lash mascara.

I'm actually glad that I got to try this mascara before buying, otherwise i would be very disapponted for paying the full price and not using the product.

There has been quite a few reviews about this mascara, some people quite like the product but other people really didnt notice any difference, so I suppose it is just a matter of opinion and taste. If you can buy the Elle magazine, I would advise you to do it, before you spend £19.50 on a mascara that you will not use.

I hope you enjoyed reading the post

Take care
